Rate Limits

Attestr API and Portal services are governed by rate limits to maintain fair usage across clients. The rate limits are set differently for each client depending on estimated monthly volumes.

Attestr applies following two types of rate limits -

  • Account Rate Limit
  • Service Rate Limit

Account Rate Limit

Account rate limit is applied to the customer account and is cumulative rate limit across all services that are enabled in that account. All the service usage combined together can not exceed this limit.

Service Rate Limit

Service rate limits are scoped to a particular service. If one service is blocked due to too many requests, other services can continue to return data as long as account limit is not reached.

How is rate limit calculated

Transactions are captured per second and also over the period of 24 hours. Per day and per second rate limits are applied accordingly. Attestr also offers an additional burst capacity both at account and service level to handle burst of requests in addition to specified rate limits.

What are the rate limits applied to my account

Rate limits are communicated at the time of service provisioning and based entirely on projected volumes. In order to know your standard rate limits after provisioning, log a support ticket.

Can the rate limits be increased

Under special circumstances, rate limits can be increased. To increase a rate limit log a support ticket and specify the clear business need for requesting the increase. Rate limit increase is subjected to Attestr's internal review and can be approved or denied as appropriate.
